- Alex Cissokho Review added: 2018.04.23★ ★ ★ ★ ★We rented this cottage as a family with young kids and loved it. Was perfect for us - basic but cosy with wood burning stove and double glazing. Beautiful setting on edge of the Cheviots - Harthope valley just a couple of miles away. Kids loved it - loads of space to run around and quite secluded with own bit of garden and access from the back on to the hills so didn't have to worry about them bothering anyone! Perfect base for walkers in the Cheviots aswell I would guess. Friendly owners who left us to it but were there in case of any problems. Probably not suitable for anyone in search of a luxury cottage but perfect for anyone looking for a quiet, cosy place in a beautiful part of the country. We hope to visit again!
